Happy Thanksgiving!

The wild turkeys on our family property are enjoying a few sunflower seeds and some scratch feed.

The girls are feasting directly under the feeding tree.

While the boys are strutting around, feeling pretty chuffed.

And not without reason. They are quite handsome.

I love the way the sun catches their feathers, lighting them up with unexpected metallic copper, blue, bronze and gold.

The lads have the choreography very well rehearsed! The best Thanksgiving Day parade ever!

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you are all sharing a special feast with friends and family!

What awesome photos! Your wild turkeys are much prettier than the ones I've seen around here. I especially like the blue around the guy's eyes.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. QM

Thank you, Betsy Lee! We love the turkey parades. My brother said there were 20 of them strutting around in the big rye field this morning when he was out there. Hugs and Happy Thanksgiving!!

Thank you, QM! I love the wild turkeys. They have so much personality and are such delights to watch as they go about their important turkey business. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! :)

Always love seeing them out and about when out driving in the country.

One year, the day before Thanksgiving, we had about 10 of them walk down the road. Just strutting by. Mind you I live in a subdivision, not too far from the river and a few farm fields. But still a subdivision. I thought they were pretty gutsy and in your face look at me, not going to be on your dinner table ;j

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
