Houston, we have a problem...

There's currently a manufacturing problem at the PZ Kut works. I don't know when it will be resolved. What this means is that there will be no White PZ Kut until the difficulty is fixed. I'm trying not to panic, but my deep breathing looks a little like hyperventilation from time to time. This isn't aided by the fact that the basement area where Stampeaz lives is currently without walls, ceiling or lights -- timing is everything, right? (insert rueful chuckle)

I suppose that the good news is that since I don't have any PZ Kut to prepare, I can use that time to get my inventory fixed and write a chicken update. I think I'd rather have White PZ Kut than a silver lining right now, though.... (sigh)

I suppose it would be kind to withhold the maniacal laugh at the thought of my stockpile. ;)

I have a suggestion if you are trying to decide how to spend the time while you wait. *smile*

Open invitation, you know!!!

You know what I'd like? A collage of the expressions on everyone's faces when they saw the title of your post. I know I had an "Uh-oh" look on mine. I hope all is resolved quickly for your sake . . . okay, for ours, too. ;-)

Deep sigh of relief after I sprinted to my carving drawer. 2 sheets whole sheets and another half sheet. Plus a few peices with images waiting to be carved.
Hope problen can be solved quickly.

Noooooooooo!

At the rate I crank through that white, wonderfully creamy grade A, I'm prayin' things will get resolved quickly!

Good thing I gave Padawan a sheet to hold for me for when I get desperate...

Yeh...Fox... didn't you say about 2 weeks ago you were ordering more... for BOTH of us? Yikes!
*bringing out the magic wand*
I banish you!
LOL

*big hugs*

I can't carve on the orange :(
I too... am maybe close to panic mode.

How bad would it be to auction off a full, never even seen a pen or pencil, let alone a carving tool, piece of white? That would be wrong, wouldn't it?
What, did I hear $5?

If anyone is desperate, I'd send it to them. Ad we all know I haven't carved since BC (before the c word).

Well, Janet, it looks like a couple of folks have been magically banished, and I'd only steal it out of Dixie's house next week at the Shindig if you give it to her so I guess you may as well give it to me. :) Wouldn't want it going to waste or anything...

Many thanks for all the support and kind comments -- I think I am the luckiest little business person around. My customers are my friends!

Stampeaz is under plastic today -- they're blowing insulation into the walls and ceiling... Stinky!

Heh, heh, heh. This Houston letteboxer has 5 full sheets stockpiled. No problem here. None at all.

Ok, will someone please tell me how to smooth out my grade B? I have lots of stamp orders that I have to carve and fill and am not sure my current lot of 3 sheets is going to make it. I do have 4 sheets of the grade B. But, it's got tons of bumps on it, so much so that when you stamp with it, it looks like swiss cheese, or almost like bubbles are on it. I tried rubbing with acetone from my nail polish remover, then sanding it. No luck. Any tips would be appreciated!!

Hi, Candice!
I have been using wet/dry sandpaper starting at 320 grit to take off the roughness on this last batch of orange, then I move to 400 to even it out and take any sanding scratches off the surface, finishing with 600 grit to make that creamy smooth surface that I love to carve so much.

It's only necessary to do this with the grade B pieces, as I have already done it for the grade A ones.

OH NO. Of course I've just taken on a big project that I need lots of this stuff for!! EEP. I hope hope hope HOPE you're able to get some in soon!

Any news on the PZ Kut problem? I know you want to see some new PZ Kut as much as we do Webfoot! I'm so nervous, I can just imagine your blood pressure right now!

Webfoot said...

Well, short term it's a serious problem -- and I'm not sure how short that term will be. Long term, I really feel like it will all come right -- or even better. I could be wrong, but my instincts tell me I'm not. In the meantime, we still have orange.... I wish I had better news for all of us!!

I may be asking for some focus group testers when I need to check out new formulations. I think I can probably count on a few volunteers... :)

Audra said...

Any new updates? It's been almost 2 months, I'm dying without my pzkut :)

Candice said...

Yes I'd love an update too. Guess it's been about 3 months now. Would be nice to know if I should try to look for another manufacturer or get one to make a blend for me.

Candice said...

By the way, the sanding method on the grade B worked perfectly, thanks!

Candice said...

Wow, 5 months now with no PZ Kut. So sad, and hoping for a return of some kind of awesome carving material soon!

Audra said...

For the time being, I've found a place to buy the Speedy-Carve at a lower cost. I hope the PZ Kut comes back, but given that we haven't had any sort of an update since July, I won't hold my breath.

Casa del Sol said...

Oh no Audra, Webfoot has posted updates on Atlas Quest. A solution is on its way! :)

Audra said...

It'd be cool if she updated the home page of her website with that info. Or emailed the couple of us who have contacted her for an update. Instead I had to fish around that site for more answers. It's just a little frustrating! I love that PZ KUT!
