Here's the reminder of yesterday's little recognition teaser.
It's a little deceptive because, at first glance one might think it's a feather (after all, I do post a lot of bird pictures).
Instead, we have the furry little tail of this industrious fellow. He's frequently foraging around near the barn, trying to pick up a little bit of sunflower seed that has dropped from the feeders. It's one of the fattest fox squirrels we've ever seen!
The camera caught yet another picture of him, with the turkeys displaying and carrying on in the background.
I know he's not a rare or exotic sight, but I still enjoy the candid shots of creatures going about their daily rounds.

A fox squirrel would be an exotic in my yard! Grey squirrels and red squirrels are the norm around here, so a fox squirrel would be a interesting change. :^)

I have a gray squirrel that comes around. It has a dark almost black looking tummy. It never comes around with other squirrels and when they see it in the yard by the feeders, they chase it away. I haven't seen it for a couple of weeks.

BetsyLee, the fox squirrels are less common here than the gray, black and red squirrels. They're usually chased off, even though they are larger than the feisty little guys that give them such a hard time. The red squirrels are particularly aggressive, even though they are the smallest of the lot. Hugs right back to you! :)
I hope your gray squirrel buddy comes back, Sheila. Around here we have gray squirrels that come in two phases, either gray with white tummies or black, which are pretty much black all over. I wonder if you have an odd fellow that couldn't decide which way to go with the fur color! :)
